Voter2-MTR2K VOTER Board

Several of the Colorado repeater clubs use voting receivers on their repeaters to extend repeater coverage into the Colorado foothills, especially for users with handheld radios. The repeaters mostly use the Micro-Node RTCM as their voting receiver controller, though some use the original Jim Dixon Voter Board design. These clubs have become concerned that as the original design ages, parts will become harder to find. The Voter2 design resolves these issues for the foreseeable future. While fully interoperable with the original Voter Board design, the Voter2 is a completely new ground-up design effort with a planned long life. CPU and memory component sizes have been chosen to provide plenty of room for additional features.

The Voter2 is VOTER Protocol compliant and designed to fully interoperate in a mixed environment with original RTCMs, Voter Boards and an AllstarLink Voter Server. The Voter2 design also includes a basic standalone “local mode” repeater function for fallback operation during loss of Voter Server connectivity. The Voter2-MTR2K board design is Motorola MTR2000 Option Slot-specific,
but a standalone version is in development.
